Caledonian Forest Osprey Nest

This live HD webcam shows real-time views of the osprey nest near Loch Arkaig in Scotland’s Caledonian Forest. The Caledonian Forest, once covering much of Scotland, has been reduced to about 1% of its original extent due to logging and human activities, now preserved in 35 isolated areas in the northwest Grampian Mountains and the Scottish Highlands. This camera offers a chance to observe the breeding process of the osprey pair, Louis and Aila, who return to this nest annually. Ospreys are predatory birds with a diet almost exclusively consisting of fish, and this stream provides wildlife enthusiasts an opportunity to closely observe the lives of these unique birds.
