Porto’s Ribeira district is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Douro River is one of the Iberian Peninsula’s most important waterways and feeds the UNESCO-recognized Douro Wine Region. Rabelo boats were traditional sailing vessels used to transport port wine barrels to cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia. Today, they offer scenic river tours for visitors.
